Summer in the Emirates is hard on jewellery: heat speeds up tarnishing, and sunscreen and sweat dull the shine. A few habits go a long way.
- Jewellery goes on last. Apply sunscreen, perfume and moisturiser first and let them dry.
- Take it off for the pool and the beach. Chlorine and salt water are the fastest way to dull plating.
- Wipe after every wear. A soft cloth removes oils before they settle.
- Store it cool and separate. Never leave pieces in a hot car; keep each in its pouch.
- Rotate your favourites. Giving pieces a rest helps finishes last longer.
